Member Join Process

Administrators have significant control over the process by which user register with their website. This article describes these options and how to implement them.

Login Page 

Title:

 

This title will appear in the front end /members/member_login.asp “Login Page”. ExampleTitle: “Member log-in page”
Intro Text:This intro text will appear in the front end /members/member_login.asp “Login Page”. Example intro text: “If you're not yet a Member, then click here to Join"


Join/My Details

Join Title:

 

This title will appear in the front end /members/member.asp? “Join Page”. Example title: “Register today”
Join Intro Text:This join intro text will appear in the front end /members/member.asp? “Join Page”. Example join intro text: “To join the site, register using the form below.”
Title:This title will appear in the front end “My details page” Example: “Manage my details”
My Details Intro TextThis intro text will appear in the front end “My details page” Example

Login information 

FieldSelect which fields you would like to display on the site registration form page.
VisibleThis determines if the field is visible on form.
MandatoryThis determines if the field is mandatory on form. If mandatory box is ticked, the user will not be able to complete the registration form without entering the selected field details.
EditableThis determines whether this field is editable by the user on the “My details” page.

 

Optins

Title:

 

This title appears on the page specified under “Location”.
Location:

 

Optional selection of which members page the Opt-in information appears on.

Members Details is the default option

 

Optin name

 

Please insert Optin name here

 

Optin description

 

Please insert the description of the Optin name here, preferably what the user will receive if this Optin is chosen.

 

Visible

 

This determines if the Optin is visible on the front end, to hide Optin leave box blank.

 

Pre-ticked

 

This determines if the opt-in is pre-ticked on the registration page or not. i.e. whether the user needs to actively opt-in or opt-out of the communication during the member registration process.

 

Mandatory

 

This determines if the Optin is mandatory. If mandatory box is ticked, the user will not be able to complete the registration form without ticking the Optin.

 

Access Level

 

This is an optional function to assign a particular content access level if a user is part of a particular opt-in group

 

Days Access

 

This determines the number of days the user is assigned the content access level specified upon joining

 


Optional Field

Field title:This title will appear in the front end as the name of the question
Field type:This determines the field type Radio: Options will be displayed horizontally with round boxes. The radio field type should be used when there is a list of two or more options that are mutually exclusive and the user must select exactly one choice. Dropdown: Options will be displayed in a selectable drop down menu. Checkbox: Are used when there are lists of options and the user may select any numberof choices. Options will be displayed horizontally with checkboxes next to each option.
How many options:This determines how many options will be displayed within the field type selected
Option ( ):Please insert the name or value of each of the options here.

Success Page

Success text:Success Text appears after completing registration form.
Not validated text:Not validated text appears upon login if the validation required option has been ticked



Validation and Welcome Email 

Validation RequiredThis determines whether the member is sent an email upon registering with the site asking them to click on a link to validate their email address
Show Validation Status:This determines whether the members validation status is shown upon login
Validation Page Title:
Validation intro text:Validation intro text appears on validation page that the member visits to validate their email address.
